Have your children pack some boxes that are filled with toys that are important to them and then point out those boxes to your movers to ensure they are unpacked first. This way your children will feel like they are helping and not have to go searching for those sentimental possessions.
Have plenty of boxes on hand. You can never have too many boxes!
Write a list of what each box consists of. How many boxes do you have labeled kitchen? You will make your life a lot simpler if you take a few minutes to write down what that kitchen box contains. This can mean the difference between a home cooked meal and eating out for the next week!
Don’t forget to let everyone know you are moving and where your new address is. Utilities, phone companies, credit cards and relatives. Also the US Post Office can provide you with a nifty little moving kit that contains some coupons!
